Some good labour news today in eastern Canada.
The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (SLSMC) announced that a tentative agreement has been reached with UNIFOR, representing Transport and Equipment workers. The agreement will run for a four-year term, retroactive to April 1, 2023.
The SLSMC news release can be accessed here and the list of the major transportation labour agreements expiring in 2023 can be found here. The first item on this list is the expiring west coast longshore workers agreement that is the source of the current west coast strike.
