Logistics Coordinator – Yara Bell Plaine

Yara Belle Plaine is a world class producer of nitrogen fertilizer and is the newest member of Yara International ASA. Responsibilities
Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
- First point of contact for Canada and US Customs related matters ensuring full compliance to laws and regulations associated with Transport Canada, CBP, FDA, US DOT and ICC authorities.
- Documentation management for all US and Canada Customs filings.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- First line support on maintaining Yara Canada Inc.’s certifications for Natural Resources Canada, CTPAT, Safe Feed Safe Food, AN and NH3 code of practice.
Forecasting and Position Reporting:
- Primary responsibility for preparing and managing the weekly sales position for Eastern Canada. This would include preparation and distribution of report to Sales, Plant Operations, Transportation and Customer Service. Communication of any issues to team related to inventory management and execution of shipment plan.
- Primary responsibility for preparing rail and truck forecasts for carriers.
- Support weekly sales reporting for Eastern Canada as needed.
- Product Allocation: provide direction to customer service and plan to allocate tonnes for daily shipping at Yara facilities and external warehouses.
Transportation Management:
- Primary responsibility for distribution for Yara Vita for direct to customer and third party warehouses.
- Provide support to customer service for the distribution for DEF from plant and third part terminals
- Quarterly Measurement Reporting: Monitor and report Rail and Truck Performance Measurements.
- Monitor transport cost and the development of appropriate performance metrics ensuring continuous improvement in this area
- Primary responsibility to ensure that delivery execution according to the terms agreed to in the sales contracts. Support to this activity will be provided by customer service and transportation team.
- Manage transportation contracts for selected carriers compliant with Yara’s requirements. Establish and develop transportation relationships with relevant carriers having the capabilities to serve Yara’s business in the region and across US borders
- Provide backup for rail and truck coordinator positions as needed.
Education, Experience & Skill
- Minimum eight years of experience within Transportation industry, ideally in similar industries and markets.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Agriculture, procurement and inventory management is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and problem solving skills
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Strong team & support orientation
- Solid customer service skills
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP
- Good Microsoft skills, specifically MS Outlook and Excel
