The Prime Minister announced a Cabinet shuffle today that has the Honourable Marc Garneau moving from Transport to Global Affairs. The Hon. Omar Alghabra, MP for Mississauga Centre, has been named Minister of Transport.
Mr. Alghabra trained as a mechanical engineer and and also holds a Master of Business Administration degree. He was most recently Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister.
FMA extends best wishes both Messrs. Garneau and Alghabra as they take up their new duties. FMA will be reaching out to Mr. Alghabra in due course to discuss supply chain and transportation issues facing the shipper community.
