FMA has obtained updated information on the labour dispute between the Maritime Emplyers Association (MEA) and CUPE Local 375, representing the longshore workers at the Port of Montreal.
During the period of the 40 Hour strike, which ended in the morning of July 4, the parties agreed to resume bargaining and five days of negotiations took place from July 3 to July 7. The parties have agreed to continue negotiations and the next round of bargaining will commence on Monday, July 13.
FMA will continue to maintain contact with the appropriate organizations and report as new information becomes available.
