At 8:47 a.m. this morning, April 25, the Minister of Labour gave notice that the government will be introducing a Bill in the House of Commons on April 26 to end the strike at the Port of Montreal.

The Bill is entitled “An Act to provide for the resumption and continuation of operations at the Port of Montreal”.

The notice is providing for limited debate and expedited passage by the House of Commons. Once passed, it will go to the Senate and following passage there, will become law once it has received Royal Assent.
