FMA has received the latest update on the labour dispute between the Maritime Employers Association (MEA) and CUPE Local 375, representing the longshore workers at the Port of Montreal.
MEA reports that the union has called a four-day strike commencing at 7:00 a.m., EDT, Monday, July 27 and ending at 6:59 a.m., EDT, Friday, July 31.
The strike will impact all terminals at the Port of Montreal except Empire Terminal servicing shipments to Newfoundland and the loading of grain.
MEA reports that today’s negotiations, the last of three days of negotiations scheduled for July 22 to 24, will continue as scheduled. MEA did not have information on dates for the next round of talks.
