The U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Agency (FMCSA) has issued the revised Final Hours-of-Service Rule for truck drivers on May 14. The rule will apply to Canadian truckers operating in the United States.

The FMCSA asserts the new rule “will increase driver flexibility and generate $274 million in savings for the U.S. economy”. The final rule is based on extensive consultation with stakeholders. It will come into effect 120 days after publication in the Federal Register.
